Our Friday Clubs just got tastier! Thanks to a generous grant from Raley’s and the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom, students have the opportunity to learn about agriculture and nutrition. The grant allows teachers to purchase featured, seasonal agricultural commodities for students to taste throughout the school year. During our weekly clubs, students got to taste a variety of fresh apples as well as enjoy the applesauce made on-site. Kindergarten through fourth grade students learned about observation skills by studying several different apple varieties. Fifth through eighth grade students learned all about food safety and how to prevent foodbourne illnesses.
